Xavierites,

Thank you for answering the call. Your attendance at yesterday’s disaster relief informational, email inquires, tweets, DMs, and current donation drives further validate our mission: “To promote a more just and humane society by preparing its students to assume roles of leadership and service in a global society.” Because of you, Xavier University of Louisiana is committed to supporting those affected by natural disaster in the Greater Houston area.

To best serve our brothers and sisters, we are centralizing our relief efforts. Xavier will host and fill containers (locations to be determined) Tuesday September 5th – Thursday September 8th  with relief supplies. We are asking Xavierites to donate non-perishables, water, boxes, toiletries, etc. Remember: no clothing! A detailed list will be provided on Org Sync. The collection will be delivered first to Lake Charles, Lou., where various partners from Houston will convene to pick up supplies.

In addition to donating supplies, we need students to participate in accepting donations at the container. If you would like to register your organization or yourself as a participant in these efforts, please click here: https://orgsync.com/103681/forms/277004.

Additionally, the Counseling and Wellness Center has provided Texas’ HELP hotline for natural disaster resources. Please disseminate this information: 211 or 877-541-7905. Please contact the Counseling and Wellness Center, at 504-520-7319 if you have any questions regarding this information.
