Introducing #XULA20: Part II

With just two days left before XULA20 moves in for freshman orientation, we decided to highlight a few more students.

1. Alexandra Hepburn

“You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains”- Josh Groban, You Raise Me Up

Hepburn is a Biology Pre-Med major from Charleston, SC. Since she was a child, she knew that she wanted to be a veterinarian. With her degree, she hopes to attend veterinary school, eventually opening her own practice as a large animal veterinarian. Hepburn enjoys volunteering, working out, watching natural hair videos on YouTube and advocating for social change in her community.

2. Kalif Brown

“Still on peaceful dreams I see/ The road to you.”- Ray Charles, Georgia

Brown is a Music Education major from Chicago, IL. In the future, he wants to become a music teacher and open a music school for children and adults. In addition to this, Brown wants to create a community music center, because he believes that this will bring positivity to his community in Chicago. Brown enjoys writing music, playing basketball, and eating.

Fun Fact: Brown has been playing drums since the age of three!

3. Taylor J. White

“You’re a positive motivating force within my life” – Aaliyah, At Your Best You are Love

White is a Vocal Performance and Business major from Jackson, MS! In the future, she plans on becoming a performing artist, because it is her passion. She loves sushi, chocolate ice cream and watching, A Different World.

Fun Fact: White loves performing in plays and stage musicals.

4. Rachel Augurson

“It look like nothin’s gonna come my way/ So I’m just goin’ sittin’ on the dock of the bay”- Otis Redding, (Sittin’ On) The Dock of The Bay

Augurson is a Biology Pre-Med major from Monroe, La. She would like to become a pediatrician, because as a child she had heart issues and always had to go to the doctor. There, doctors would run tests on her and she was scared. Although frightened, Augurson’s pediatrician made it easy for her, because she was very loving and kind. Because of this, Augurson hopes to make other children feel the same! Some of her favorite things are reading, singing, writing poetry and playing basketball.

Fun Fact: Augurson is almost 6 feet all!

5. Jasmine Jones

Jones is a Biology Pre-Med major from Madison, Ala. With her degree, she hopes to become a pediatrician, because she loves working with kids. Jones watching the sunset, enjoying nature, traveling, and taking photographs.

Fun Fact: Jones taught herself how to play the piano at a young age, and took lessons later on!

6. Chynna Michelle Dubuclet:

Dubuclet is a psychology major from New Orleans, La. In the future, she plans to get her masters in marriage counseling. Her goal is to be a licensed marriage and family counselor because she thinks that children should grow up in happy, healthy homes. Dubuclet loves the color blue, cheesecake, horror and animated films, and Ayesha Curry.

Fun Fact: Dubuclet is a mime.

7. Terrene’ Ellison-Felix

Ellison-Felix is a Mass Communications major, Public Relations concentration originally from New Orleans. With her degree, she plans on becoming sports broadcaster on ESPN’s Sport Center. Ellison-Felix loves talking to people and has a passion for public speaking. Some of her favorite things to do are shopping, eating, and hanging out with friends. Her favorite artists are Lil Uzi Vert and Rihanna.

Fun Fact: Ellison-Felix is the only family member on her mother’s side to be left handed!

8. Nia Logan

And though it may hurt I’mma tell you the truth” -Sy-Ari-Da-Kid ft. Bryson Tiller- Priorities

Logan is a Mass Communications major, who hopes to become a broadcast journalist. With her degree, she wants to a news anchor and travel the world answering questions and interviewing people about current events. Logan chose this major because she felt that the typical newspaper writing would not tell our story the best. She feels that this will allow her to express her creativity, and for that she is extremely excited.

Fun Fact: Logan is the only left handed member of her family!
